What is Downtilt?
Downtilt is the angle by which an antenna's main beam is directed below the horizon. It's used to confine cell coverage to a target area and reduce interference to neighboring cells.
Mechanical vs Electrical
Mechanical: Physical adjustment. Affects the entire pattern including side lobes.
Electrical: Electronic phase-shifting. Preserves pattern symmetry and minimizes interference.
